Desk accessories that look finished

People notice the front of a desk first. A leather tray, a weighted bookend, and one lamp make a workspace look ready without turning it into a display.

Choose materials that last: oak, linen, and brass that is allowed to dull. High-gloss plastic looks temporary even when it is new.

If the room is shared, keep scent light. A cedar candle after hours is plenty. Skip anything sweet.
